During a recent coaching session with yet another woman who has denied her innate gifts, I couldn’t help but wonder if all women suffer some sort of dis-ease…. The one that causes a complete discarding of the inner gifts that we’re each born with -gifts that are such basic feminine, if not human, traits….
Do YOU realize the power of your gifts? Or, like too many women I meet and coach, are you denying that you have the power to create the life you desire on YOUR terms?
This isn’t about feminism as much as it’s about humanness. Everyone, regardless of gender, chance of birth, race, religion etc., comes into this world equipped with a set of skills and characteristics that include survival skills and expanding across the spectrum to unapologetic self-love. We’re also born with a blueprint of sorts, that can be enhanced or buried; the latter, I’m noticing, is too often the case.
Rather than deny parts of ourselves that are strong, and creative, and caring, it seems that much of the characteristics are being drown out with social media diversions, alcohol, and other numbing substances.
There’s a better way. And that is to embrace your feminine gifts and share them with the world.
I’m one of those women who believe we can do anything we set our minds to. But most of the time, we fail to set our minds to any one goal.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not about the masculine paradigm of setting concrete goals, infusing them with stress inducing hard work, and stepping onto the heads of others to get ahead. It’s not only not necessary to hurt others in the process of our growth and expansion and stepping into our full-winged living, but it’s detrimental. Women’s power has never been about hurting others. We are crafted of nurturing tendencies, and we are built to care and share. In fact, one of the most powerful feminine traits is that of collaboration and cooperation; we simply do better when we’re sharing the love and tolerance.
This week, make a list of your feminine powers. Are there any that you have squelched in the name of “keeping the peace” or not “ruffling feathers”? Is there a better way to own your powerful gifts and not harbor hidden resentments that can come of stifled emotions? Vow to live more in harmony with your mind-body-spirit this week. Note in your journal how you’re feeling, and how your small awareness shifts are impacting your life, and the lives of those closest to you.
