I’m in Utah for a few more weeks, and I gotta say, I’ve stumbled into some fun kitsch during my stay. My daughter and my son and I were together for the first time in a couple of years. So of course we went to Pirate O’s, a novelty store that sells everything from old-fashioned candy to aisle after aisle of various hot sauces. Among the sundries I stumbled onto is Empowermints! You just know I had to have them! lol.
The adorable little tin of Empowermints got me to thinking:Wouldn't it be lovely if we could just pop a mint and suddenly be empowered? Click To Tweet
Most of us would fight to buy out the store if it were that easy! Yet seriously, it is not hard to claim one’s power. It takes only self-awareness, and a dedication to self-love. And in the big picture, the rewards are much greater than the temporary taste of a quick minty flavor….
So here’s my take: If you are reading this, you are probably interested in enhancing your sense of personal power. And also if you are reading this, you must surely know that I am here to empower women.
Women’s empowerment (as opposed to Empowermints) isn’t a new concept. My great-grandmother was a suffragist and her mother was a pioneer who walked from Illinois to Utah. There is a lineage of suffering and strength in my ancestral DNAÂ which has been the fuel to my empowerment and to the resultant teaching of empowerment techniques to other women. And if we go back further than the suffragist movement, undoubtedly there are some burnings at the stake taking place for our pagan beliefs.
The point is, women’s empowerment is what I was born to do. And a truly valuable lesson I’ve learned along the empowerment trail is that it is not only possible, but is preferable to remain feminine while owning one’s power.
You may know that I worked as a Teamster truck driver during the 70s and into the early 80s. It was a novelty act that taught me more than I ever wanted to know about men, but from which I learned even more about the ways in which women treated each other. Our collective behavior as sisters was pathetic! It’s as if we mistrusted each other before we ever met! And when we did meet other women, our expressions were akin to sniffing dog shit from the bottom of one’s sole…. Yes, I actually used the word “shit” because when it’s the truth you just say it.
Is there something in life you would like to accomplish, yet you haven’t made strides towards starting the actions that lead to accomplishment? Are you happy with where you are in life? What has stopped you from reaching your most audacious desires?
My belief is that we can have anything we desire as long as we hurt no one, including our self, in the process. That adage is something I learned from my mother. Yet the funny thing is, she absolutely hated that I was a truck driver! I suppose some of her traditional beliefs kicked in, plus, she probably recognized the danger that I was putting myself into by weasling in on the good old boys’ territory. And she would have been right. There most candidly were dangers.
- Do I suggest you play into the Interstate traffic?
- Am I suggesting you disregard common sense?
No, in both cases. I do believe that we each have a capacity for greatness far beyond anything we can imagine. With that said, I encourage you to start each day with a 30 minute period of reflecting on what could be….
Imagine your most profoundly inspiration and rewarding life: What does it look like? Smell like? Feel like? Who is there with you? How did you get here?
By investing just 30 minutes each morning in this zone of possibilities, you are creating the neural pathways that will seek to manifest that vision into your physical world.
- So, where do you want to live on this large blue globe?
- What does your ideal life look like?
- Are you with a “perfect” soul mate?
- What are you driving?
- How do you spend your time?
- Who are your friends now that you are here?
- What had to change in order for this transformation to occur?
One thing I know for sure is that the way to anything is via laser focus on a consistent basis. If you are not where you want to be financially, relationship-wise, career wise, lifestyle and health-wise, it’s because you have not committed to these things. It’s that simple. And if all it takes is commitment, and you feel like you want to commit, but could benefit from a bit of accountability, you may want to invest in yourself by claiming a few empowerment sessions with me, or with someone who suits you.
Life is fleeting. There is only now to make a decision to get busy living the life of your conscious creation.
